The Birdsong Cushion covers
The joy of blue skies, bright flowers and chirping birds bring life to this textile.
The inner courtyard of Nilambagh Palace proudly displays the exquisite bird paintings done by the great artist Somalal Shah (1905 - 1994). The prolific artist spent three decades of his life in Bhavnagar and taught at various institutions during his time in the city. An alumnus of J.J. School of Art, Mumbai and patronised by the royal family of Bhavnagar, Somalal Shah went on to be honoured with the Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak, one of the most prestigious awards in Gujarat, in 1949.
Our local printers have replicated these delicate bird paintings and our in-house tailor has stitched these cushions that would bring the outdoor into living rooms.
