Gandhi Smruti
The Gandhi Smruti , also known as the Gandhi Memorial, was established in 1955 in Bhavnagar's central area, facing a prominent clock tower. It serves as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who once attended the University of Bhavnagar, a lesser-known aspect of his life. The memorial comprises various facilities, including a Gandhi picture gallery exhibiting a collection of books, rare photographs, and artifacts documenting Gandhi's life from birth to death.
Additionally, the complex houses a small museum displaying ancient artifacts, a well-stocked Khadi Gramodyog Bhandar promoting handspun cloth, and a meticulously maintained library offering a diverse range of literature. The clock tower adjacent to the Gandhi Smruti resonates with music and chimes on all four sides, adding to the ambiance of this historic site.
